Job Description:

The Community Manager is the heart of Elate’s in-person presence in Victoria. You’ll manage our retail pop-up space, act as our local brand ambassador, and help cultivate meaningful relationships with customers, collaborators, and community partners. This is a dynamic, people-first role that blends retail, event planning, brand partnerships, and customer care.

Responsibilities:

  • Retail Pop-Up Management

    • Operate and manage the Elate pop-up retail space in Victoria

    • Deliver exceptional customer experiences with personalized, knowledgeable service

    • Maintain inventory, merchandising, and cleanliness of the space

    • Track sales, customer feedback, and engagement metrics

    Community Engagement & Events

    • Plan and host community events, workshops, and pop-up activations

    • Represent Elate at local markets, festivals, and industry events

    • Cultivate relationships with aligned local brands, creators, and makers for future collaborations

    • Contribute creative ideas for community-focused campaigns and initiatives

    Customer Experience

    • Provide warm, solution-oriented support for local customers

    • Respond to customer inquiries (in-person, phone, email) with professionalism and empathy

    • Help troubleshoot product concerns and returns when necessary

    • Share feedback with the HQ team to help improve the Elate experience

    Brand Advocacy

    • Be an Elate storyteller: educate customers about our values, products, and rituals

    • Collaborate with marketing on content from the field: photos, videos, event highlights

    • Build a genuine local presence that reflects Elate’s voice and vision

  • A people-person who thrives in community and loves creating connections

  • Passionate about sustainable beauty, wellness, and ethical business

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated—comfortable working independently

  • Creative and resourceful with a natural ability to bring ideas to life

  • Experienced in retail, events, or community-focused roles (bonus if you’ve worked in beauty or wellness!)

Requirements

  • Based in Victoria, BC with reliable transportation

  • Available for in-person work including some evenings and weekends

  • Comfortable lifting boxes, moving displays, and setting up events

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Bonus: experience with Shopify POS, CRM tools, or social media content creation
