Elate is a B-Corporation!

Individually, B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.

Did you hear the GREAT news? Elate is officially B-Corp Certified!

The Elate Community is incredibly proud to be celebrating this moment, a true milestone on the elongating Elate path.

So, what is B-Corp?

Individually, B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.

While about 3,000 companies are Certified B-Corporation, the process is quite rigorous and requires a tailored evaluation that measures a company's impact on its workforce, the community, its environmental impact and the customers.

To be certified, it means that we are using business as a force for good, making decisions based on the belief that people and planet are more important than profit. As well, ensuring that "good marketing" is being replaced with "ethical marketing".

Elate's Founder described it best, "Developing and nurturing Elate has enabled me to support joy in our community through capsule beauty, philanthropic endeavors and by creating a thriving workplace. Individual responsibility is what creates global impact and by being a B Corporation, we are joining a robust community of like-minded businesses that make the world we live in better, now and in the future - and that just makes sense.” - Melodie Reynolds.

Elate is committed to giving back environmentally and socially, as much as possible. Currently, more than 1% of total sales goes to the Human.Kind. initiative, which supports charities that help people around the globe. The other 1% goes to environmental initiatives, including planting one tree for each order received through our partnership with One Tree Planted.

Team members are encouraged to present charities and causes that align with Elates core values, and are encouraged to volunteer their time, with paid time off to participate in events they feel will benefit the community. The intention of this program is to create community engagement opportunities for team members that are meaningful, purposeful and help those in need. “Community is not defined as just a local community, but may encompass an entire global perspective.” Melody mentions.

As the Elate Community celebrates becoming the first Cosmetics company in Canada with the B Corp designation, rest assured this is just the beginning. getting down to business and continuing to further our practices to benefit the community by reducing inequality, lowering the levels of poverty, creating a healthier environment and strengthening communities - with dignity and purpose.
