March is B CORP month, the perfect time to reflect and re-align ourselves with our goal of going beyond beauty to create a positive impact in the industry. This month, we are looking back at what we have accomplished so that we can look forward to an even more sustainable future ahead.
Our theme for 2022 was FORM. It was also a year of significant change for our team as individuals and as a company, We saw triumphs as well as challenges, and embraced our value of curiosity as we re-evaluated form and function.
Here is what we accomplished:
Most of all, we learned from our past so that we could look to the future with a fresh perspective and know that the thing that remains constant is our unwavering commitment to creating beautiful, effective, sustainable products that bring you joy, while making the world a better place.
For 2023, we move back to our roots of simple, joyful rituals. We are so grateful to our partners, customers, and community for being on this journey with us.
Our goals for 2023:
- Re-certify as a Benefit Corporation
Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We currently have a score of 93.2 (the minimum is 80) and we are working to improve that to a 96.
- Reduce our scope 3 emissions by 10%
We are looking specifically to reduce our water, and electricity consumption, as well as waste reduction and landfill diversion. This supports the UN SDG of Responsible manufacturing and consumption,
- Create more transparency for customers with easy access to all people and planet reports. Creating a Landing page for all our social and environmental information.
Our journey is perfectly imperfect. With small steps, relentless focus, and accountability, we are changing the beauty industry. One product at a time.
